Cool Ideas for Hot Summer Days

Summer has arrived! School is out, they are already getting bored and this is usually when a parent starts to look for something fun for them to do during these hot summer days. Here are 3 cool ideas for ways to spend hot summer days.

Visit a Water Park!

Cool water is a great response to hot temperatures. For your trip, pick up sunscreen that is water-resistant and give them a second layer after lunch just to be safe.

Choose Smart Fun at a Hands-on Science Museum

At a science museum, your children will learn and have lots of fun at the same time. And they'll have a blast doing it. Hands-on science museums help kids learn by utilizing various activities that express how science really works. A lot of kids become more interested in science and math and want to learn more after they see how much fun it can be.

Put on a Home Film Festival

Are temperatures in the forecast that make you just want to stay inside where its cool? Why not pick a day to host a film festival for your kids and a few of their friends? Gather 2 or 3 of their favorite movies and intersperse them with 1 or 2 old classics that might inspire their appreciation of old films and even teach them something in the process. Show one of the newer Disney films, then change it up a bit by showing To Kill a Mockingbird. This is likely to get a discussion going as you enjoy ice cream after the flicks..

To make this day work, make sure that your central a/c is in good working order. Set up an appointment a couple of weeks before your film event with your air conditioning company. They'll check over the entire system and perform any maintenance required. Your indoor day will be a hit when indoor conditions are cool and comfortable.

All parents know how hard it can be to make the kids summer fun. These are just 3 great ideas that will help. Use your creativity to think of similar ways to spend great time with your children or grandchildren this summer. There are so many ways to have fun while at the same time learn. The point is just to enjoy spending time together.
