The Development of Word of Warcraft

Currently recognized as the most subscribed MMORPG in the world. World of Warcraft, also known as WoW has virtually taken the world by storm. It holds the record for being the most preferred MMORPG ever created. The game has currently 3 titles on 3 different expansion sets. Burning Crusade, the title of the first set, was launched last January 16, 2007. The Wrath of the Lich King, the second installment, was launched on Nov.13, 2008. Its latest expansion was named Cataclysm, and was launched last Dec.7, 2010. The game is a continuation from the events of Warcraft II: The Frozen throne. The stories are incorporated together in order to make a storyline that fits the developed game play.

The World of Warcraft game had become an avant-garde in the tradition of role-playing games. It took role-playing game genre to new levels. From the visuals to the player to character interaction, I will consider it the best. The World of Warcraft, in an effort to make room for thousands of players, features a massive multiplayer approach. This feature makes World of Warcraft accessible to several players worldwide.

Keep in mind that WoW can only be experienced online. An internet connection is important. One can play the game alone, although the game is best played with interaction and communication from others. That is why playing it online and joining a server is required. You will really appreciate the game when you play it with others as well. However, a subscription fee is needed to play the game online. Payments can be made every month, three months, or six months.

WoW's game play focuses greatly on dungeon exploring, level grinding and boss hunting. In addition, players can also choose one out of two classes and battle the opposite class. The game is simply a record of the war between the Alliance and the Horde.

Humans, dwarves, Draenei and the gnomes make up the alliance. They are a proud group of warriors in which there purpose is to maintain order and peace in Azeroth. The Horde also has their own set of warriors; they have the undead, Orcs, goblin, trolls and the Tauren. A player can select between a number of jobs. The jobs are warriors, rogue, mage, cleric, paladin, druid, shaman and the death knight. All of them have various powers. Also, they differ in physical appearance and it depends greatly on the race you have chosen. Basically, a player needs to build up his character whether you are a member of a horde or from the alliance. The goal is to level up, get the best gear and be the strongest one. .

All in all, the game is certainly a notch above the rest. I personally have played this game at one point. I fell in love with the game so much that I can personally prove that this is indeed the best among all role-playing games out there.
