The Atens have established a non profit venue with their barn. All funds from ticket sales for the performances held here go towards the musicians. The first such performance was held way back in 1995 and a potluck dinner for the guests added a special touch to the show. For the initial few concerts, the listeners had to sit on bales of hay or provide their own lawn chairs, states Bill Aten. Currently, the barn is a comfy concert hall that has seen some major renovation and construction work being put in by Bill. Seating was handed down from the Antrim County courthouse as well as some old church pews also stand here beside original seating from Boyne Mountain lodge. Yet the barn concerts still do not have reserved seating.
