The gimmick of 3D continues to live strong

The popularisation of three dimensional films which has been influenced by the releases of movies such as Avatar, Toy Story: 3D and more recently Tron - Legacy is casuing everyone and everything to hop on the 3D bandwagon. At this point I have seen plenty of 3D movies and I have to admit - I don't really get why so much fuss is being made. Despite this, everyone else seems delighted with the technology...

Gucci has already released their own line of 3D cinema glasses for those who are a little too fashion conscious to wear the same eyewear as everyone else (prices start at a hefty $225) but it has just been announced that designer Oakley sunglasses is doing the same too. Oakley are now planning to release their own selection of high market 3D glasses after positive feedback that they received for a design they developeded for Tron a few months ago. The assumed RRP will be around the $150 mark.

I am sure it will not be too long before Prada glasses releases 3D pairs too.

If you want to make a real statement with your 3D glasses however, you might like to buy yourself a Transformers themed 3D mask, which is due to be released by Hasbro (the toy developer) 6 weeks before of the release of the highly anticipated film; Transformers - Dark of the Moon. The plastic masks are compatible with all three dimensional mediums so you could attend the cinema to watch other films dressed as Bumblebee should you wish to...

If you really can't stand to wear glasses at all, you might prefer to purchase yourself a Nintendo 3DS or a 3D laptop by Toshiba, neither of which require the use of any glasses! Hopefully these products use 3D technology that is far better than that used in 3D cinemas.
