Are You On The Wight Track

If you had any questions why you should go and enjoy the Isle of Wight this year there's another feature which is rapidly establishing itself on the European festival scene, Bestival.

Along side hosting the Fancy Dress Festival on the island Rob Da Bank also puts together a themed fancy dress nights at other venues across the country to keep the party vibe alive throughout the year but for four days in the second week of September this year Robin Hill Country Park will be throbbing to the sounds of The Cure, Pendulum, Public Enemy and Grand Master Flash as well as P.J. Harvey and Primal Scream who will be playing the whole of Screamadelica live on Saturday night.

AS was the case with the recent party held at KoKo in London earlier this year, the theme will be Rock Stars, Pop Stars and Divas. Rob Da Bank "Dressing up and escapism have always been a big part of Bestival and our faithful crew are mega inventive to the point of eccentricity."

Bestival takes advantage of the last of summer's heat and is the last festival on the circuit as far as Europe is concerned, if you've missed all the others then this is your last chance to get your dancing boots planted firmly in a field.

Once you arrive at Bestival you can put up your own shelter or you can hire one of the many different tents and camping alternatives such as yurts, squirts and cloudhouses. The accommodation is all ready pitched so you won't be fumbling in the dark and they are all located near showers and upwind of the toilet blocks so the organisers are sure you'll enjoy camping on the Isle of Wight. To purchase your tickets to the festival you can go through your usual resellers or contact Wightlink who also provide ferry services to the island.
