Youtube Has Started Renting Out Movies In The United Kingdom

YouTube is the top place on the web to go to if you want to watch videos. There are millions of them to choose from and there is no excuse to ever get bored. In the past pirated movies have ended up on YouTube but they tend to be removed pretty fast. The huge demand for all the latest movie releases is something that the Google owned company has noticed. This is why they have launched a new service that allows people in the UK to watch the latest movies legally. This is a service that looks likely to be hugely successful if current indicators are anything to go by.

The UK is the first country outside of North America to be given access to this new YouTube rental service. Internet users in North America first had access to the service in May last year and in September of the same year, the Canadian users were provided with access. There are thousands of titles to choose from all ranging in price from £2.49 to £3.49. The level of quality is about the same as a DVD. While you can download the movies that you purchase, you can only watch them for a period of thirty days.

I've always said that the appetite for pirated movies will fall if there is a viable legal alternative. I actually think there will be more people ignoring the pirated versions now that this new YouTube service is available. I'm a bit disappointed to see that we've needed to wait so long for this service to be available in the UK. I don't know why this service is not available worldwide. The coming months will be very interesting to me as I watch how this service performs. There is an audience there for YouTube but whether they can take advantage of it remains to be seen.

We are fortunate to be able to take pleasure in so many things because of the coming of the web. We are able to shop, we could send e-mail, we could research more information - and a lot more. And the best things of all time to do though is being able to watch movies online.

Youtube Movies: The Good And Bad

There are plenty of free full length movies available on YouTube these days which many people are not aware of. A lot of what is available are old classic movies but you will also come across a few more modern films too. This is great news for all of us movie lovers, because it means that we never have an excuse to be bored again. There are some pros and cons to YouTube movies though and we will be considering these here.

The Pros of YouTube Movies

There are a few great things about YouTube movies including

• The fact that YouTube movies are free has to be the biggest benefit. With spare cash being something that most of us don't have much of these days, it is lovely when you can get something for nothing.

• YouTube has plenty to choose from with millions of videos as well as many full length movies.

• You will never get bored or run out of things to look at on YouTube because of the fact that every day, new items are added.

• YouTube is extremely user friendly and you don't have to worry about malware or viruses like you would with other websites offering free movies.

The Drawbacks of YouTube Movies

Below are a few of the bad points in relation to YouTube movies

• With so many videos on YouTube it can be hard to track things down. This is particularly true if you don't know what you are looking for. It can often take a bit of time to track down the appropriate video even when you know the name of the film.

• The majority of full-length movies are old classics. You will probably be frustrated if old classics are not something that you particularly enjoy.

• The latest movies do occasionally end up on YouTube. But copyright infringement means that they don't stay there too long.

We are fortunate to be able to enjoy such a lot of things due to the creation of the world wide web. We are capable of doing things such as shopping, sending e-mail, looking for and finding information - and so much more besides. Probably the most favourite thing to do though is watch free movies online.

Reasons Why I Dont Watch Online Movies Anymore

I have come to the decision to stop watching online movies for a while. It probably won't be a permanent decision, it is just too tempting to go back to them, but I am going to try to avoid them for a few months. Most of this entertainment available online is actually free so I am not being ungrateful. But I do feel that it is just more of the same all the time. I really can't remember when I enjoyed watching a movie online. It has become something I do now out of habit.

When it comes to online movies for me it is a real case of too much of a good thing being bad for you. Because you can watch one movie after another on the internet, I have found that this is something I have been doing nearly every night for about four years. This means that I can usually fit in around three or four films in a night. The really bad thing is that by the time I've gone to bed I'll usually have forgotten what I've just watched. You could say it is like chewing gum for the eyes. Maybe they just don't make good movies anymore or maybe I've just seen too many of them recently. But I am one hundred percent sure that I won't be doing the same old thing every night anymore.

I wish I could start to enjoy movies again like I used to. Those were the times when a renting a couple of DVDs each week was all I could afford. Watching a movie then was a special treat. However, I do not feel that there is anything special about watching movies anymore. I am hoping that the excitement will come back if I don't watch any for a while. And hopefully I will remember the film when the credits are over.

We are fortunate to be able to enjoy such a number of things thanks to the coming of the internet. We could shop, we could send emails, we could research more information - and much more. Probably the most favourite thing to do though is watch free movies online.

The Best Movies To Watch Online In 2011

If watching online movies is something you like then you will be delighted at the amount of choice that you have. Many people like to keep up to date with all the latest film releases and we have really seen some great movies so far this year. The following are just an example of some of the better ones.

Paul

I'm a huge fan of Simon Pegg so it is no surprise that Paul is one of my favourite films of 2011 thus far. The film centres around two English geeks taking a road trip around America. While on this road trip, they happen upon an alien called Paul and while trying to save him there are many side splitting moments. This film has not managed to live up to Sean of the Dead in terms of hilarity but it is still a really funny movie which you should definitely see if possible.

Sucker Punch

This is a film which begins in a women's mental institute styled from the 1950s. But it is a fantasy world that has been created by a disturbed mind where most of the action of this movie happens. This movie works hard to be different, and it certainly isn't predictable. It is full of action and you will probably miss things the first time you watch it so you might have to watch it again.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows

When it comes to detectives, I have to say that Sherlock Holmes is probably the best one there ever was. This is another example of how he can beat the bad guys with his wit. I never get bored of Sherlock Holmes and this movie doesn't disappoint.

Green Lantern

If you like superhero romps then Green Lantern is the film to see in 2011. There is action galore and many different special effects. I would place a bet that in a few years we will see the sequel to the Green Lantern.

The examples above are just some of the fantastic movies that are available to watch online.

The internet has opened our lives to a lot of wonderful things. We are able to do things such as shopping, sending emails, looking for and finding information - and so much more besides. And one of the best things of all time to do though is being able to watch movies online free.

Online TV: Reasons Why I Love It

Online TV has become my most recent obsession. When it comes to watching online TV, it is just so easy that I find I don't even bother with regular television these days. Here are just a few of the great reasons why I'm happy to watch my TV online these days

• Being able to sit down and watch TV whenever I like is something I find fantastic. If I want to watch an entire series of a show back to back then this is easy to do. I don't have to wait for a week before I can get to see the next episode anymore. This is great news for someone like me who often finds that he can't remember what happened in last week's episode as I'm sitting down to watch this week's one. I don't have this problem anymore with online TV shows.

• The internet tends to have much more choice of television shows than you would find on the regular television. This means that I never get bored. I do not know about you but I have found that the more TV channels we get the less there is to watch it is all just repeats. So now I no longer have to be at the mercy of the TV schedules because I can watch what I want.

• Prime time is whenever I decide. I don't have to watch my favourite TV programmes at times dictated by the TV channel because I can watch them when I want. I tend to do most of my viewing after midnight and this is when regular scheduling becomes very limited. However this is not a problem anymore because with online TV, I can watch these shows at any time of the day or night.

So there you have just some of the reasons why I love to watch TV online.

The internet has opened our lives to many superb things. We are able to do things such as shopping, sending email messages, looking for and finding information - and so much more besides. Probably the greatest things we're able to do though is watch movies online.

Top Reasons To Avoid Watching Online Movies

Online movies is something that has really grown in popularity over the last few years. The reality is that a lot of people only ever consider watching their movies over the internet these days. • There is often pretty poor quality when it comes to online movies. So that means that you may not really be able to fully enjoy them. Because most of us tend to watch movies only once, it makes sense to try and watch it in the best quality. You will find that you won't enjoy the movie as much if the sound or picture is bad.

• You must have a good internet connection to be able to watch movies online. Even if you have a good connection, the speeds can vary during the day. If you have to wait for a movie to buffer before you can continue watching it, then it can start to get really annoying.

• If you download movies from the internet you risk importing viruses or malware to your computer. These viruses and malware can be harmful to your computer and they are often hard to get rid of. And personal information can also be targeted by these viruses which is a huge problem. So you need to make sure that reputable websites are all you ever use.

• When it comes to websites offering free movies, there are so many to choose from but the problem is that a lot of them are scams. You will be told that you can view the movies for free on these sites but every time you click, you will only get advertisements instead. All you will get is pages and pages of adverts every time you click the links to see the movie.

The internet has opened our lives to many amazing things. Among the thing s we're now able to do are sending e-mail, shopping searching for answers and searching for information - a whole bunch more more in addition to. The best things we are able to do though is watch movies online.

Here are a few tips for anyone who is interested in watching movies online for free.

• Just because there are many different websites online which provide you with access to free movies does not mean that they are all worth visiting; in fact a lot of them should avoided at all costs. There are all types of scammers on the internet and they know that offering free movies is tempting bait. It can be minutes of you clicking away on their sites before you realise that there is nothing of interest on it. During this time they can bombard you with advertising or possibly even infect your computer. You need to be sure to take care when you are searching for free online movies.

• It is best to stick to the reputable websites if you are looking online movies. You will find that these sites are the most popular ones and that everyone will be using them. You will have to do a bit of research because these change all the time. The problem is that if an online movie website becomes too popular they will usually be shut down, or more likely sell out to profit.

• There are plenty of movies online that are legally available to watch for free. It is better to stick to these if copyright infringement is something that bothers you. Although with this option it is mainly black and white classics that you can watch, there is quite a choice.

Free Online Movies: The Ethics Of It

The ways in which we do things has changed completely because of the internet. And you could also say that it has led to a number of new ethical dilemmas being created. The way that media on the internet has had an affect on copyrighted material is probably one of the most talked about. The web is swamped with material that some would say shouldn't really be there because of copyright infringement. The latest movies are usually available online to be downloaded but you can also sit back and watch them online as well. Although there is not much risk involved in watching things online, there may be some people who just feel that it is not right. This is one area that is grey and there are so many different opinions that it is easy to get confused.

For some people it is a type of criminal act to watch free movies online. They argue that investors spend millions to make these films, and that copyright infringement is stealing from these people. And with many investors seeing it as risky to put their money into movies now that they become so readily available online, some would say that this is killing the movie industry. Those who feel like this are often of the opinion that punishment for those who provide and watch this material should be harsh.

However it doesn't really make sense to say that it is a form of stealing to watch copyrighted material. You would therefore be stealing when you read a book that you had borrowed from someone else. We are not stealing anything when we watch movies online because there are the same amount of movies in circulation as there were before we started watching movies online. And those who say that this is killing the movie industry are exaggerating. There are still rubbish movies getting released on a weekly basis so it is plain to see that there is plenty of money to be made. These people really should learn to control their greed and accept that the world has changed.

Online Movies: Ensuring You Get The Best Quality

I love the fact that I can watch movies online for free whenever I feel like it. I really never have any excuses to be bored anymore. Because they only seem to show repeats on the television these days, I don't watch it so much anymore. I much prefer to watch movies online and wouldn't care if I didn't have a TV. The fact that sometimes the quality is not great with online movies is the only issue I have. However I have found that there are a number of things that I can do to make the situation better.

• It can be really frustrating to watch online movies if your internet connection is slow. It will just keep on stopping and you can wait ages for it to buffer enough to just show a couple of more minutes of film. If you want to get the most out of movies online you are going to have to get a good internet connection.

• Sometimes it helps to pause the film for a few minutes if the internet connection is going very slowly. This is the best way to ensure that the movie has buffered enough before I start watching it so that it won't interrupt again during the movie.

• Believe it or not, the sound quality is more important than the picture quality when watching movies. I have invested in a good pair of speakers for my computer and I would advise you to do the same. I just can't watch a film with poor sound quality even if the picture is fantastic.

• When it comes to watching movies online I always make sure that there are no unnecessary programs running before the movie starts. Because these other applications often take up too much memory, they will then cause problems with how the movie runs.

We are lucky to be able to enjoy such a lot of things because of the coming of the web. We are capable of doing things such as shopping, sending email messages, looking for and finding information - and so much more besides. Among the best things we are able to do though is watch movies online for free.

Revolution in Sound - Apocalypse Now

A Scene From Apocalypse Now

The 1979 war-movie masterpiece Apocalypse Now is a long-lived favourite of many critics and fans alike. Apocalypse Now illuminates the changing times of the 60's and 70's while standing as one of our most powerful anti-war statements of the 20^th century. In a time when their friends at home were fighting for civil rights and campaigning for social justice, these men were dying by the thousands in a meaningless war.. This film's conscience and cultural value should not be forgotten. It was the first realistic vision of war that did not glorify the actions of soldiers, but showed death and destruction as the horrors they are. What could never be the same after this film is the way producers use sound in their productions, a huge influence on music for tv and all types of media. Walter Murch has become the first sound designer to reach legendary status thanks to the way his work enhances the film. Right from the opening of the film we are subjected to the ominous thuds, whirrs and beating of helicopters, the main theme of the sound design throughout. The audio layers of helicopter noises were made using synthesisers, to provide the control that was needed. The feelings of the young American men lost in the jungle are perfectly portrayed by the popular music blasting from radios throughout the movie. Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries is used to great and horrific effect as a flight of American helicopters senselessly destroys a village in order to go surfing. The psychedelic absurdity is brought to a head when Lance takes acid deep in the jungle, surrounded by scary sounds and weird distortions on the front line music library. As Willard nears his quarry, confused and un-motivated to kill, he begins to question his orders while listening to the sounds of war receding into the distance. In the end, Kurtz is slain for his madness, like a sacrificial cow aren't all soldiers in war? - as he is slain to the sounds of the Doors' This is the End, he uses his last breath to say

"The horror, the horror."

Watch Apocalypse Now again, with your ears open. There has been nothing quite like this soundtrack before or since.
