Flight Simulator Games for PC

Realistic Flight Simulation Games

Why are flight simulator games for PC so popular? The response is very easy and simple. For most of us who are not pilots, we can only dream about flying a real plane. For those of us who do not have a pilot's license (or a plane for that matter), the best we can do is purchase an adequate flight simulation game. And depending on the detail, graphics, realism and excitement, these flight simulator games can be quite addictive.

Game creators have done an outstanding job of taking flight simulator software to a whole new level. Gone are the days of simple commercial flight simulation games. Space and combat games are becoming part of the norm. Retail sales have proved that commercial airline flight simulator games are the most popular mainly because of the scenery of flying from one city to the next. Imagine taking off from Washington D.C. and landing in Orlando.

Today's flight simulator games are truly realistic. Game developers would not dare release a flight simulator game if it lacked realism or detailed graphics. Although there is no data to confirm what I'm about to write, I would be inclined to believe that individuals who are getting ready to take the flying test for their pilot's license actually prepare for it using a flight simulator game. Imagine simply purchasing a game to prepare yourself for a real pilot's license by playing flight sims.

Because of the speed of today's modern PC, flight simulator games can provide an even more realistic view of what really happens in a 747 cockpit. Because of the this advanced computing power, gamers can fly some of the world's most advanced aircraft right from their own computer chairs. An example of these planes include the Apache Longbow military helicopter, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the C-130, the space shuttle and the F-117A Stealth Fighter.

Situational circumstances and scenery are a huge factor in today's flight sim games. Consider being the pilot of a military attack helicopter in enemy territory about to drop off special forces. Or imagine flying into JFK on the coldest night of the year with the runway full of snow. Or imagine the countdown as you sit on the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center about to be launched into space.
