The introduction of the Wii changed the way people looked at video games. By changing the way a person controlled the game play they made the games more interactive than ever before. In the past there used to be accessories that worked as controllers but they are not similar to having to get up and move around to control the action. Nintendo allowed a person to get off the sofa and move with the action of the game, but there was still a need to keep something in your hand as you played.
When the Wii hit the market several years ago, it took off almost immediately. The frenzy was driven by the advances that had been made in the system. After awhile the need to hold a controller and the dangers that came along with it took some of the shine off the new system. After awhile using the controller can become tedious. There were many games that were better without the motion controllers.
People were fast to jump on the Wii bandwagon. After a couple of holiday seasons it was normal for a house to have a Wii hooked up to their television. When people started playing these games they were able to get some exercise. That original zest for the game faded over time like many other things do. Adults who were dedicated users at first did not continue to play as much. Other parts of their lives got in the way.
Manufacturers of the gaming consoles knew that there was still a sizable market for them to try to capture and eventually the Playstation Move and the Xbox 360 xbox 360 kinect hit the market to legions of fans who said that they offered mass improvements with their new motion gaming technology and hoped that this would bring people who have been turned off by the Wii back into the fold as buyers of their new systems. But it is becoming harder and harder to justify the expense of the gaming consoles and all of the accessories that need to be purchased along with them to play all of the games. They have gotten better as technology has improved. There are so many other ways that adults entertain themselves that the consoles need to do even more than they are doing now.
For many adults the games are too simple for all of the systems. After a while a person will lose interest in a game that they thought was good when they began playing it. As a person loses interest, the game console sits unused. It becomes a very expensive investment that does not provide the returns.
That is another problem with the consoles. The costs with them can become astronomical and even if a person manages to find out kinect they will still find themselves spending money on the games, accessories and even for a monthly subscription to a service that comes along with the game that allows them to connect to other people with the same systems. It can become a downward spiral of money being spent if a person is not careful.
Motion gaming was neat, but it was not everything that people expected it to be. It was difficult for people to translate their body action s into real actions on the screen. There were many physical dangers that were created by people who were using the motion gaming systems. Many of the titles that are available are not very good if a person has to move around to play them. Traditional controllers are still the best way to play some titles.
There are issues that people have with these new consoles. People consider this to be a negative. But people can look forward to new things in gaming that will be coming. The capabilities of the consoles will continue to improve and they will be something that is great to have in your home.
